Enter Shikari: New Single + UK Tour Supports Announced

Enter Shikari returrn to, or visit for the first time, some of the smaller towns traditionally less visited by major tours. Towns such as Manchester, Wolverhampton, and Glasgow saw more than enough of the band in 2007, so a decision was made to “spread the love” in other areas.

Support bands on the tour have been drawn from the vast family that Team Enter Shikari has built over the years. Joining the band on their trip around the regions will be:

PDEX - D’n'B mixmaster extraordinaire. well versed in the art of ‘getting the party started’. He is the brother of Enter Shikari guitarist Rory Clewlow.

Fell Silent - Progressive metal sextet from Milton Keynes. their new album ‘The Hidden Words’ is out now on Basick Records

Maximum The Hormone
- all the way from Tokyo, Japan (where they are one of the biggest - if not THE biggest - rock bands in the country). these dates will be their first UK shows.

An Albatross - Psychedelic-hardcore-progressive-rock from Pennsylvania, USA. Their new album ‘The An Albatross Family Album’ will be released in the UK to coincide with the dates.

Saving Aimee - unashamedly pop quintet from St Albans. their first ever tour was with Enter Shikari in Jan 2007, and they also done the Astoria NME show this Feb just gone.

Flood of Red - Long-time Enter Shikari tour buddies currently in the process of writing and recording their long-awaited debut album.

Aside from the above listed acts, there will also be a couple of opening acts in a selection of towns, namely:

Camden - JBM

Dublin, Cork, Belfast - Escape Fails

Southampton - Canterbury

Llandudno - My Turn To Kill

Enter Shikari will also be releasing a new single entitled ‘We Can Breathe In Space, They Just Don’t Want Us To Escape’. Scheduled for November 3rd and released on the band’s own Ambush Reality label, the single is the first new recording by the band since June 2007.

A drastic re-working of a song originally demoed by the band way back in the mists of time (though popular amongst fans thanks to file sharing and P2P sites), ‘We Can Breathe In Space…’ will not necessarily be included on the band’s second album (due to begin recording directly after the tour, and provisionally slated for Spring 2009) but is rather to be taken more as a stand alone bit of fun.

‘We Can Breathe In Space…’ was produced by Andy Gray, who aside from writing the theme tune to dreadful Channel 4 show Big Brother, has worked with the likes of Radiohead, U2, Gary Numan and Korn.
