Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2008: More Updates Announced

Bloodstock Open Air Metal Festival has just announced the latest addition to their already stellar metal line up. Joining Nightwish, Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, Helloween, Primal Fear, Soilwork, Iced Earth, As I Lay Dying, At The Gates, and many others will be Swedish True Metal Trio Grand Magus

Bloodstock Open Air Metal Festival takes place at Catton Hall, Walton On Trent, Derbyshire from Friday 16th - Sunday 17th August, and will feature 66 bands, 4 djs & Metal Karaoke across 3 stages.

Cementing its’ place as the UK’s premier Metal Festival last summer with a crowd of almost 5000 ramming Derbyshire’s Dales, Bloodstock 2008 already promises incredibly to top that achievement. With 10,000 anticipated attendees witnessing exclusive Festival appearances from virtually the whole of the Main Stage line up, this is THE event for all fans of Metal and Hard Rock everywhere.

Bloodstock – a Virtual Festival award winner – is renowned for a friendly, safe atmosphere. “We always strive to maintain our roots and to ensure that we are an approachable Festival, keeping the balance between establishing new bands and bringing the cream of the scene to our attendees. Above all it should be fun for organisers, fans, bands and crew. The figures and response shows we’re on the right track and the feedback ensures we stay on that track” – Paul Gregory, Festival Organiser explains.

The Festival’s form for discovering “tomorrow’s talent today” with a history of bringing previously unknowns to the UK such as Nightwish, Dragon Force, Children of Bodom, Within Temptation to name but a few remains undiminished with 2 supporting stages dedicated to unsigned bands from all over the UK. Indeed Nightwish return to their UK “parents” and Evile are promoted from a previously unsigned slot to Main Stage for 2008.

World wide interactive gaming phenomenon Guitar Hero 3 makes an impact this year as Bloodstock holds its’ own search for a Champion. Hosting those proceedings and maintaining metal mayhem till the small hours will be the return of “4 dj’s of the Apocalypse” complemented with the now legendary Alternative Metal Karaoke.

Additionally, the Metal Market, Beer tent, a wide range of food concessions & merchandise, Security patrolled Parking and Camping area, Bloodstock signing tent for all attendees to meet and great their favourite bands and a whole host of extra features ensure that is the liveliest event in the Festival calendar and for Derbyshire in 2008.
