Alternative rock heavyweights Story of the Year will release their highly anticipated new album, “The Black Swan”, on April 21st via Epitaph Records. Featuring the single “Wake Up” and the piano driven ballad, “Terrified,” The Black Swan was produced by John Feldmann (Good Charlotte, The Used, Lost Prophets, Atreyu) and “Elvis” Baskette (Chevelle, Escape The Fate, Puddle of Mudd).

Story of the Year’s first single, ‘Wake Up’ is up on band’s Myspace page and will be released in the UK on May 19th. SOTY will play the following dates in the UK:

20-May London - Mean Fiddler
21-May Birmingham - Academy 2
22-May Manchester - Academy 2
23-May Glasgow - QMU
25-May Leeds - lam-dunk Festival

Space-Rock heroes Monster Magnet have just announced their return to the UK after 4 years away! Frontman/Rock-God Dave Wyndorf is happy to be back:

“I dunno, we go away for a few years and now you can’t smoke at a Rock Show. Shit, London, how we’ve missed you and your passion for Rock’n’Roll and general rowdiness. We’re psyched to be playing the Astoria again, it’s been way to long, shows there always rule, which is why we’ve chosen it as the venue for our only UK show.”

“Hi Freaks,
A High Quality updated version of our VHS classics “Live In East Berlin” and “Hallucinative Comas“ will be released on DVD for the first time ever! We’re really excited to hear your reactions on this! We ´ve put a lot of hard work, sweat and energy into this Monster!

Other then that, we´re spending most of our time in the rehearsal room these days to prepare the new album! We have a 5 track demo and 2 more songs writen. The writing goes really smooth, the new songs are made for a live situation and they all kill! No compromise but sheer thrash metal brutality! ! So be prepared - January 2009 will see the release of the next album, followed by an extensive World tour! By the way, we have a new webmaster! His name is Marek at Imperial Arts, a real Metal freak! 36Crazyfists will make their Limited Edition US EP “The Oculus” available for digital download in Europe on April 21, 2008.

“The Oculus” is a three song EP featuring two new tracks from the band’s upcoming release, The Tide and Its Takers, PLUS an unreleased song that fans can’t get anywhere else!

“The Oculus” EP contains “Absent Are The Saints” and “We Gave It Hell,” from The Tide and Its Takers album, released in Europe on May 26th (G/A/S on May 30th). The third track is titled “Criminal Justice,” and was originally written and recorded by the Seattle band Satchel.

36 Crazyfists are currently on tour in the USA with DevilDriver, Napalm Death, and Invitro, and recently debuted the brand-new song “Absent Are The Saints” from their upcoming album, The Tide and Its Takers, exclusively on Myspace Metal. Mindless Self Indulgence(MSI) have shot straight to the #1 position on Billboard’s Hot Sales Chart in its debut week with “Never Wanted to Dance”, beating out High School Musical, The White Stripes, and M.I.A. for pole position.

Culled from the upcoming album “IF” which will be released on April 28 2008 on The End Records, the CD single for includes remixes by Ulrich Wild, Combichrist, The Birthday Massacre, Tommie Sunshine, and Spider.

IF will be released in four different cover art incarnations, including a limited edition deluxe edition and 12″ vinyl. Artwork for the Deluxe and Vinyl editions were done by famed animator Jhonen Vasquez.
