EP Review: Ionia

THREEEP: Ionia
Label: Unsigned

IoniaHaving just returned from touring Costa Rica in support of the Roberta Felix Foundation, New York indie rockers Ionia will soon be releasing their new self-titled EP. Produced by Ross Peterson, the EP consists of 6 radio-friendly emotionally charged rock tracks. Despite only clocking in at just over 20mins, the songs move through a variety of different aspects of modern rock with Blaise Beyhan’s heartfelt vocals the only constant. For instance, the EP starts with a more bass driven indie rock (’The Storm’) but then moves to more slower acoustic ballads (’Gasoline Rainbow’), and then even to slide guitar (’Skin and Bones’). Ionia is a wide ranging and solid sounding EP which has the potential to appeal to many different sets of fans.
